For our second year, in 2019, we selected 22 students from four different towns in the Gobi region, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, our second year students faced challenges in distance learning and accessibility to technology like fast internet connections. The educational trips inclusive of the program had to be postponed because of government regulations. In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the ISMD Young Scientists Program continued to conduct its mission of developing the youth.
For these reasons, Young Scientists Program participants from 2019 continued their training and educational experience through online enhancements. Opportunities for educational trips were forwarded to 2021 and 2022.
