Based on our first year of the program experience, there is a strong need for English language learning support for our participants to fully engage and actively express themselves during the program, such as in lectures with guest speakers. With the selected students who received the opportunity to visit the U.S. and participated in the paleontology summer camp, we noticed that our students needed some help boosting their confidence in communicating in English.
Therefore, the ISMD team created an “English Summer Camp” supplementary program to enhance the students’ English language learning process with creating a special English speaking environment. This pilot supplementary program was implemented successfully in the summer of 2020 for 5 days in Bulgan soum. The camp was led and organized by the ISMD team and professional certified English teachers. English camp had one main rule: only English was allowed. The program focused on 3 main areas: Life English skills, Public speaking and Presentation skills, and Leadership and Teamwork skills.
